From a small workshop in 1996 to a global flexible duct manufacturer with facilities in China and the United States — our story is built on engineering, quality, and relentless innovation.
Our Story
Ductword's founder started in the building materials industry in 1996. With a background in architecture and a passion for mechanical engineering, he began manufacturing aluminum foil flexible ducts in 2003 — initially supplying a single American client who discovered us through a supplier referral.
That first order grew into regular shipments of 3 containers every two months. By 2008, recognizing that quality control required hands-on manufacturing, we built our own factory in Dongyang, Zhejiang — in the heart of China's industrial manufacturing region.
What sets us apart is our engineering DNA. Every production line — all 6 of them — runs on equipment we designed and built ourselves. When we needed a specialized cutting machine, we didn't buy one from Korea; we reverse-engineered and improved it. This in-house capability means we can manufacture to tighter tolerances and accommodate custom requests that other factories cannot.
Today, we serve contractors, distributors, and OEM partners in over 60 countries, with a new manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas bringing us closer to the US market we've served for over two decades.

Company Milestones
Industry Entry
Founder begins career in building materials and plastic tubing in Beijing.
First Flex Duct Production
Launched aluminum foil flexible duct manufacturing. First US client secured through supplier referral.
Dongyang Factory Built
Established our own manufacturing base in Dongyang, Zhejiang — taking full control of quality and production.
Dongyang Hstube Co., Ltd Founded
Formally incorporated. Expanded product line to cover insulated ducts and industrial hoses.
Production Equipment R&D
Began designing and building our own production machinery. Today, all 6 production lines run on self-developed equipment.
UL Certification Started
Initiated UL listing process — one of only 3 factories in China pursuing this certification for flexible ducts.
US Expansion
Registered US company. Secured 4,300 sq ft manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas.
Houston Factory Operational
US manufacturing facility becomes operational. Equipment shipped from China, key engineers relocated to Houston.
